It combines a range of speakers and workshops to demystify the public sector technology landscape, while showcasing the latest technology solutions that are transforming how public sector organisations deliver services for citizens. As such, delegates are already signed-up in their hundreds to learn more about how they can procure and deliver transformational change in their own organisation and maximise the benefits that their technology spend provides.

As the UK’s largest provider of software and IT services to the UK public sector, Capita will be there in force. There are few events that bring together such a vast selection of key public sector organisations, and digitech18 is the perfect place to showcase our commitment to the UK public sector, in addition to our market-leading scale, range of capabilities and key competencies in public sector services.

Now I’ve covered the ‘what’ of digitech18, let me tell you ‘why’. I personally feel this event, and Capita’s involvement in it, makes it an absolute must for public sector technologists. As sponsors, we’re sending a top panel of public sector experts from our business, to ensure delegates from all public sector organisations can discuss their specific and varied requirements with professionals that live and breathe relevant solutions every day. Our stand (F2, by the way) will be a hive of activity for the duration of the event, and we invite you to visit and speak to us about the specific services that would make your daily life much more effective for you and your citizens.

I’m also looking forward to our seminar, ‘Supporting Digital Transformation – exploring the technology that provides new ways of delivering council services’, taking place at 12.30pm in the Morley Seminar Theatre. Our panellists include Sales and Marketing Director James Bunce, Technical Solutions Director Giles Hawtin, Solutions Director Dominic Birch and Chief Technology Officer Martin Deacon. Our team will be analysing four key areas via a thought-provoking, engaging and interactive Q&A session.

Their session explores technology that provides new ways of delivering public sector services, with particular emphasis on Agile Transformation, Whole System Approach (WSA) to Digital Transformation, Digital Infrastructure and Smart Cities. Our public sector technology experts will be delving into the actual meaning of digital, which of course represents many things to different people. We’ll be tackling how a whole system approach empowers organisations and those whom they serve. Essentially, they’ll be helping the audience to genuinely understand what digital means within their specific organisation, and helping them asses their readiness for digital success.

From speaking with the team, I also know they’ll be discussing what public sector organisations can do to help them (by asking their digital/tech providers the right questions) get on the digital journey. Cutting through all the jargon we’ve all heard dozens of times, our panel will openly discuss what public sector bodies should be requiring from organisations like Capita to really make huge differences to citizens.

In summary, Capita IT and Networks will use digitech18 to hold open, honest and genuinely insightful conversations with customers and delegates. We’ll discuss our transformation project, and advise how we can make life better for their organisation, and most importantly, the citizens they represent. As the UK public sector’s largest provider of IT services and software solutions, we know you wouldn’t expect anything else.
